I stayed here more than twenty years ago. Delightful, historic hotel in Cotswolds. Have never forgotten it and would stay again if I had the opportunity.

Love it here. I travel over to Tewksbury at least once/ twice a week. Always go in the pub for a coffee, sometimes a breakfast. In the summer I sit in the rear garden, which has a view towards the Malverns.
Very friendly, and a very interesting building.

Cannot speak for a busy time, but on a quiet afternoon the Hop Pole delivered good service, good standard pub food (the grill excellent) and all at simply astonishing prices and value; the ground interior has a bit of a beer hall feeling which does not really do justice to the historical significance of the fascinating building

Food was good, standard pub grub. Service slow and had to remind staff that we ordered sides with our meal. Atmosphere good, one lady with glasses and dark hair was lovely, but the girl who served waited aprox 1 minute and then came back asked if our meal was OK, I would have preferred to take a bite first to give a opinion.

Exceptional. I can’t fault this place for cost. The rooms are clean and welcoming. The staff are all young but have been so accommodating. The last 2 nights my evening meal has been cooked to perfection. Managers special sirloin ordered …

Delightful premises stopped in Tewkesbury on route with coach holiday - had breakfast snack and several capachinos for less than £4. Staff attentive and helpful. Not used to Weather spoons but this place was very good. Very large spacious premises. Vast variety on menus for any time of day and size of appetite.

I stayed here, as a lone female, and booked a single room.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the room was of a good size, as was the bed.
The bedding was crisp and clean, and the towels were large, white and fluffy - much better than many posher hotels than I've stayed in.
The hospitality tray was full of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and had plenty of milk and sugar, plus biscuits and bottled water.
There was a hairdryer, an iron with ironing board, and plenty of hangers in the wardrobe.
It was convenient to pop downstairs for dinner and breakfast.
During the evening the bar was very busy and I struggled to find a table, but once seated, I ordered on the app and my meal came quickly.
The staff were obviously busy, but the service was first class.
I haven't stopped praising the whole experience to my friends.
Well done the Royal Hop Pole.

Did not eat here. The smell of the spices and herbs was mouth watering. Enough to whet one’s appetite. Very busy, plenty of atmosphere. Buzzing to say the least. Plenty of staff on. Good prices today, 7:5 % off VAT. Excellent stuff. Good selection of real ales.
Waiting time to be served was negligible. Very polite staff. A lot of clearing up to do. Staff constantly on the go. Beer garden is huge, plenty of seating. Lovely setting and river views. Prices are reasonable for food and drinks.

One of the better Spoons pubs we have been to. The staff were great and the building was very interesting. Great range of ales and a larger Spoons menu than we have seen lately. We enjoyed a good pub grub meal with myself inhaling a double cheese burger and my wife appreciateing a rare juicy steak. Would definitely go back and a big thanks to the friendly staff.

It is very much the same as any other spoons. However I do appreciate the ordering at the table app now. The food is okay as expected. The service is again as expected, not bad although we had breakfast there the other week and a sausage fell off my partners plate and landed on the velvet chair and the waitress questioned whether we wanted a fresh one?! To which of course we did! But it’s just an easy place to go, as are all spoons.
